White Light Emission from RF-Sputtered BaWO4:Dy3+ Thin Films

چکیده
Radio frequency (RF)-sputtered white-light-emitting BaWO4:Dy3+ thin films were deposited at four different temperatures for application in electroluminescence devices and displays. All crystallized to achieve a tetragonal structure with dominant BaWO4 (112) diffraction peak, irrespective of growth temperature. Two types trapezoid grains average sizes approximately 250 530 nm evolved deposition temperature 100 °C. Upon 234 excitation, the two main emission spectra exhibited 572 yellow band arising from 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 transition 477 blue line resulting 6H15/2 Dy3+. As increased, intensities all bands increased slowly, approached maximum 300 °C, then decreased markedly 400 chromaticity coordinates (0.314, 0.361), gap 4.56 eV, transmittance 98%. These results indicate that white-light RF-sputtered can be fully realized by varying

Fabrication and Characteristics of RF Magnetron Sputtered ITO Thin Films
Indium tin oxide (ITO) films have been deposited onto glass substrates by ifmagnetron sputtering without insitu substrate heating. The as-deposited films have an electrical resistivity of 5x1O a-cm, visible transmittance of about 85%, and infrared (IR) reflectance of above 80% at 5 jim. The effect of sputtering parameters on the deposition rate and the electrical and optical properties of ITO f...
متن کاملSelf-induced Crystallinity in RF Magnetron Sputtered ZnO Thin Films
ZnO films were coated on the order of micrometer thickness on various substrates using RF magnetron sputtering. Glass, mica and Si were used as amorphous and crystalline substrates to study film growth. X-ray diffraction measurements revealed a self-induced, (002) oriented texture on all substrates. Effects of residual stresses on growth behavior and possible mechanisms of textured crystallizat...
متن کاملMEMS prototyping using RF sputtered films
In the present work, the deposition and characterization of dielectric, piezoelectric, semiconductor and conductor films by RF diode / RF magnetron sputtering process for applications in MEMS fabrication have been reported. Thin films of silicon dioxide, silicon nitride, amorphous silicon, zinc oxide and lanthanum doped lead zirconate titanate (PLZT) were prepared by RF sputtering process and e...
متن کاملUltraviolet detectors in thin sputtered ZnO films.
Sputtering of ZnO is a well-known technique.'9 The application of sputtered thin films of ZnO has mainly been as surface acoustic wave transducers. To our knowledge nobody has yet used these films as detectors for UV radiation. Measurements of the intensity of UV radiation, for example in medical applications in connection with UV irradiation of the skin, are very inaccurate due to the lack of ...
متن کاملCharacteristics of RF-Sputtered Thin Films of Calcium Phosphate on Titanium Dental Implants
Hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings on titanium have been investigated for many years, and have demonstrated advantageous biocompatibility in dental implants. Animal experiments have demonstrated that the biological response to plasma-sprayed HA-coated implants shows disadvantages in terms of adherence, thickness uniformity, and long-term osseointegration effects. Determining how to resolve the degrad...
